Maverick Garage Doors was founded in 2009 by Wade Harlan, an installer who had spent a decade hanging doors for other companies across North Florida. He started with a small workshop outside Ocala where he could weigh doors, wind springs, and rebuild openers instead of throwing them away. The name came from a foreman who once told him he was too stubborn about doing things properly. Wade decided that was the point.

North Florida is a different animal from the southern coast. Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Daytona Beach get the salt and the Atlantic wind. Gainesville, Ocala, and Leesburg get the heat, the oak pollen, and summer storms that roll in every afternoon. The Villages runs on golf carts and tight schedules. Palatka and Lake City have older homes and workshops with doors nobody makes anymore. So every location keeps a full spring inventory, cables, rollers, and openers in stock, and the goal on every job is to finish it in one appointment.

The crew is small on purpose. Each technician trained in the Ocala shop before taking on a location, and every one of them can measure a door, size a spring by wire gauge and weight, and explain the difference between a fix and a patch. We do not sell service plans, we do not pad invoices, and we do not replace a door that has five good years left in it. When a door does need to go, we install wind-rated replacements and bolt them in like the next storm is already on the radar.
